 Multiple Crush Syndrome
Through my years as a practitioner, I have had a quest for discovering why my patients get the conditions that they present with.

Finding the right diagnosis, has never been enough for me!

If I have a patient with a diagnosis of carpal tunnel syndrome, I want to know why they have that condition, not just that they have it. By trying to figure out why, we can help my patients get to the cause of their problem. In 2002, I began specializing in Carpal Tunnel Syndrome and got to see a huge number of Carpal Tunnel patients. When I would perform my examination, I chose to always examine the entire upper extremity and spine as well. Some interesting findings were found: Most of my patients with Carpal Tunnel Syndrome had some level of neck involvement and most of my patients with Carpal Tunnel Syndrome had...

one or more positive tests for mild to moderate Thoracic Outlet Syndrome.

Research now shows that there have been studies to prove both of these concepts. This happens because of a condition called Double Crush or Multiple Crush Syndrome.

It is explained as this: When there is pressure on a nerve it decreases the amount of nerve conduction along that nerve. It is sort of like putting a dimmer switch on a light or turning down the switch for a fan. The pressure on the nerve causes the nerve to have decreased electricity and therefore the muscles go weak, or you experience tingling, numbness or pain. So, if there is pressure on the nerve by the neck decreasing the nerve flow, what do you think would happen if there is also pressure on the same nerve in the shoulder or the wrist?

That's right it would be even worse. This is Multiple Crush Syndrome.

A condition where the nerves in the arms get very sensitive to pressure due to multiple areas of compression. There is even a simple procedure to test for nerve sensitivity. This test is called Tinel's sign, and is performed by tapping the nerve at the wrist to see if it is over-sensitive to pressure. Tinel's sign is just one indicator of nerve sensitivity; however it may not always be sensitive but commonly is with Thoracic Outlet Syndrome and Carpal Tunnel Syndrome.

Remember my philosophy of "It's Never One Thing".

So.many times when the Carpal Tunnel Syndrome is released by surgery, the patient gets immediate relief however, the symptoms return after a relatively short time. Now let's add some other factors that cause the nerve to have a weakened nerve impulse like diabetes, neck arthritis, alcoholism, etc. and the symptoms just return within a short time.

You must address multiple factors that are causing your problems...not just one thing! That is why we created to TOS Home Relief System.
